The Lotus Flower Tiara
Historical Information :
The tiara was created in 1923, using diamonds and pearls from the necklace that was a wedding gift from the Duke of York (future HM King George VI) to the Duchess of York (future HM Queen Mother) in the same year. HRH Princess Margaret, the younger daughter of HM Queen Mother, inherited the tiara from her mother in 1959. The tiara became one of the favorites of the young princess, just like The Poltimore Tiara. After the death of HRH Princess Margaret in 2002, the tiara was inherited by HM Queen Elizabeth II. In 2013, The Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine, Princess of Wales in the future) wore this elegant piece for a diplomatic reception, and for the Chinese State Banquet in 2015.
