The brooch was gifted to Queen Victoria on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The brooch was one of the favourites of Queen Mother; she wore the brooch on the wedding day of HRH Princess Elizabeth. HM The Queen Elizabeth II received the brooch as a crown jewel in 1952.
